You don't have to smell really gross stuff as much anymore because you don't need to breathe in unless you talk. But then again some people can achieve a better sense of scent and then talking in smelly areas becomes really unpleasant and now if you don't think that's a problem then I don't know what your priorities are.

Max is, after all, just speaking in Jackie's own language. How better to get on Jackie's level?

"All new skin and hormone chemistry means a whole new set of maintenance rules, right? I get it. Oh, and it might change again when the seasons turn, too. I have to switch my facial cleansers for summer and winter. One dries me out too much."

He does actually feel for Jackie on this. Max doesn't have as extensive of a routine, but he does put more into maintaining his looks than either Rowan or Lucas. And, he's pretty sure he knows what some of those further grievances might be. Humans secrete all kinds of things. It's very inconvenient. And smelly.

"I hate to break it to you, but diet can play a factor in all of that too. What kind of stuff have you been eating?" You have been eating regularly, right Jackie?
